38 On athletes from 21 nations are Budapest-bound
With a growing group of athletes from its roster qualified to compete at the bi-annual highlight of the athletics calendar, Swiss sportswear brand On underlines its ambitions on the world stage.
Zurich, Switzerland, August 15, 2023 - The highlight of the track season is coming up in Budapest from August 19-27, and a big team of On athletes is getting ready to perform at the championships and fight for medals and podiums.
A total of 38 athletes from 21 nations all across the world will compete in nine different events at the World Championships. Eleven of these athletes train in On’s professional track teams, OAC and OAC Europe, and another nine are attached to the On-supported Tuscany Camp and Athlete Refugee Team, while the remaining 18 are individual athletes supported by On.
The events with the largest number of On athletes competing will be the men’s 1500 and 5000m races, as well as the marathon.
“From only a handful of athletes in Doha in 2019 to 27 in Eugene last year, to a group of 38 On athletes on start in Budapest, On’s presence has steadily grown, in athlete numbers but also in products worn on the world stage of track racing. It showcases that our athlete program is bearing fruit and that our Lightning Team continues to push the envelope and develop the best possible training, racing, and recovery products that support our athletes on their way to these major championships. We are very proud of our entire team and looking forward to what is sure to be magical ten days in Budapest”, Flavio Calligaris, Head of Athlete Strategy & Partnership Performance at On said.”
