Last year, the Frenchman's impressive second-place finish at the prestigious Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) cemented his place among the world's top ultra-runners. But for Chassagen, this success wasn't just about racing - it was about his profound bond with the mountains and the shared experiences with those who run beside him.

Chassagne's journey to the pinnacle of trail running is nothing short of extraordinary. He discovered the sport in his late twenties after relocating to the breathtaking Haute-Savoie region. It was here, surrounded by the majestic Alpts, that his passion for the mountains - and the people who are drawn to them - began to take root. As he immersed himself in the natural beauty and spirit of the trails, Chassagne quickly moved from local races to national and international competitions, propelled by his deep connection to the terrain and the runners who shared his love for it.

His early victories in shorter distances, such as the Beaujolais Villages Trail 20k and a series of podium finishes, were just the beginning. He then took on longer races, conquering the 50k distance with triumphs at prestigious events like the Festival des Templiers and Trail des Hauts Forts. Chassagne's shift to the 100k races marked another significant chapter in his story. In 2020, he earned a third-place finish at the Weekend Trails du Tour de la Grande Casse, and in 2022, he pushed his limits at the Trans Gran Canaria, finishing fourth in a grueling 100-mile race.

But it was in 2023, during his UTMB debut, that Chassagne truly found his rhythm among the world's best, securing a top-10 finish. Just one year later, he surged forward to capture second place in a stunning 20:22.45, a time still reverberating throughout the trail running world.

However, what truly sets Baptiste apart is not just his athleticism but the soul he brings to the sport. Beyond running, Chassagne is a creative entrepreneur with a unique ability to connect with others through storytelling. He founded his own creative agency. helping brands tell their stories with authenticity. His recent album, born from his years on the trails, is a tribute to the human experience of running - reflecting the moments of solitude, camaraderie, and personal growth that define the trail running community.
