Fiona von Flüe Joins Louis Heyer's Renowned 800m Women Project Training Group

ZURICH, Switzerland – December 17, 2025 – On is excited to announce that Swiss 800m runner, Fiona von Flüe, has joined the On-supported training group led by renowned coach Louis Heyer. 

Coach Heyer, who has followed von Flüe's athletic development for years, explains why now is the perfect time for her to turn professional:

“Fiona was already delivering top performances across various distances at 14 or 15, and it was the right decision to keep her out of a professional setup too early. My philosophy is that a young athlete needs to mature alongside her peers, solidify her athletic foundations, and learn patience. However, her development, serenity, and maturity at the end of the 2025 season clearly signaled that the right moment for her to join the 800m Women Project Training Group ​ had arrived.”

Fiona von Flüe is considered one of Switzerland's most promising young middle-distance talents, achieving success in distances ranging from 800m to 3000m. Her record on the European level is already impressive: this year, she won gold in the 800m at the European Youth Olympic Festival and a silver medal with the 1000m relay team. On a national level, she secured the Swiss indoor 1500m title in both 2023 and 2024 and has set several national junior records. Shortly before joining Heyer's group, she also won the U18 Swiss titles in the 400m and 1500m.

On the role von Flüe will play in the group, Heyer says:

“Fiona brings a refreshing energy and a youthful lightheartedness that is great for the whole team. At the same time, she is extremely willing to learn and has the grit to constantly improve. I am very excited to see her continued development with our team.”

Fiona's journey with On began at the On Youth Camp, an annual event organized by the Swiss sportswear brand to give young talents insights into the life of a professional athlete. Afterward, she was accepted into the Youth Academy, where she received support from On. Now, with her move to Louis Heyer's training group, she is also signing her first professional contract with On.
