Junior Tennis Talent Julieta Pareja Signs with On
The 16-year-old becomes the first female American player to join the roster of On Tennis Players
Zurich, Switzerland, May 29, 2025 - On is proud to announce the signing of Julieta Pareja. At just 16 years old, the American tennis player has already demonstrated her talent on the court, securing multiple J300 tournament victories and a Billie Jean King Cup Junior title.
Growing up in Carlsbad, California, with Colombian heritage, Pareja's introduction to tennis came through her mother's passion for the sport. Family outings to the court were a regular occurrence, where she, her sisters, and mother would spend hours hitting balls together.
Pareja has come a long way since those early days. She became the highest-ranked WTA player born in 2009, with a WTA ranking of 319, a semi-finalist at the WTA 250 Tournament in Bogota, and a winner of the Indian Wells Junior Championships—all at just 16 years old.
Earlier this year at the WTA 250 Tournament in Bogota, Colombia, Pareja began her journey as a wildcard in the qualifying rounds. She quickly progressed through these stages to secure a spot in the main draw, making a memorable impact. Her impressive run continued with five straight victories, all without dropping a set, propelling her to the semi-finals. Although her tournament ended there, Pareja's achievement marked her as the first player born in 2009 to reach a WTA main draw and the youngest semi-finalist since Coco Gauff in 2019.
The young talent Pareja now joins a strong lineup of players on On's tennis roster, a group that features both emerging junior talents like Yeri Hong (KOR) and Henry Bernet (SUI), and established forces in the professional game such as Iga Świątek (POL), João Fonseca (BRA), and Ben Shelton (USA).
With her dreams of becoming a Grand Slam Champion one day, Pareja is looking forward to being part of the On Family:
