In the women's 3000m, Marta Garcia and Purity Gitonga battled fiercely, finishing 7th and 8th respectively.
All eyes were on Ditaji Kambundji on the final day, entering the 60m Hurdles as the world leader. Kambundji, the reigning European Indoor Champion and record holder, delivered once again, securing a brilliant silver medal in an incredibly tight race, finishing just 0.01 seconds behind first place. This marks her first global medal at the senior level, an incredible milestone in her debut indoor season as an On athlete.
Triathlete Geens Claims Victory in Geelong with Dominant Run
Jelle Geens continued his winning streak, securing the men's professional title at 70.3 Geelong. Geens, the reigning 70.3 World Champion, crossed the finish line in 3:33:23, demonstrating his exceptional all-around ability and particularly his dominant run.

The race saw a tightly packed swim, with Geens exiting the water in ninth, just 19 seconds behind the leaders. He then controlled the pace on the bike, before unleashing a powerful run leg. Despite facing stiff competition, Geens’ strategic racing and impressive run time of 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 58 seconds proved decisive, allowing him to pull away for victory, finishing 45 seconds ahead of Jake Birtwhistle (3:34:08) and Tayler Reid (3:34:25).
“I was a bit unsure how it would go today because I got quite sick a couple of weeks ago. But actually, I felt super good during the race. So, it was a good start to the season; I am very happy with it. It’s nice to win a 70.3; I’ve only won Taupo before. I’ve now had two out of two wins wearing the Cloudboom Strike, and it’s just really nice representing On from now on”, Geens said after his first race as an official On athlete.
