Marathon Talent Ryan Ford Joins On Athletics Club Global Team
After a breakout season, Ford is set to run his first race as an On-sponsored athlete this weekend in Chicago
Zurich, Switzerland, October 9, 2025 - On is excited to announce the addition of top distance talent Ryan Ford (USA) to its professional roster and to the On Athletics Club (OAC) Global Team based out of Boulder, Colorado. Ford will waste no time in making his debut in the OAC kit, as he’ll line up for the marathon in Chicago this weekend, competing against one of the world’s deepest elite fields.
A standout collegiate athlete, Ford competed for the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he was a dominant force to be reckoned with. He earned the prestigious Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year award in the 2020-2021 season and captured the OVC 5000m title on the track.
After turning professional, Ford joined the ZAP Endurance team in 2022 and celebrated his marathon debut in New York in 2024, finishing in 02:11.08 and as the top American in 11th place. His breakout moment came at the marathon in Boston earlier this year, where Ford ran a personal best of 2:08:00, securing a 10th-place finish against a strong international field.
Laura Thweatt, OAC Coach, specializing in the road running disciplines, spoke on the addition of Ford to the team: "We're super excited to have Ryan Ford join the On Athletics Club. Adding an athlete of his caliber is a huge win for the team. His recent performances, including his top-10 finish at Boston, show he has incredible potential to compete on the global stage.
