Marissa Papaconstantinou Wins First World Para Athletics Medal for On

Canadian Sprinter claims bronze medal in the T64 100m final

New Delhi, India, October 1, 2025 — On athlete Marissa Papaconstantinou (CAN) has won a bronze medal in the women’s T64 100m final at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships. This marks the first World Para Athletics medal in the company's history.

Papaconstantinou, a three-time Paralympian and Canadian record holder who joined On in June 2025, clocked a time of 13.06 seconds to secure the third-place finish.

The only athletes to finish ahead of the Canadian sprinter were the world record holder, Fleur Jong (12.29s), and Marlene van Gansewinkel (12.86s), both of the Netherlands.

Papaconstantinou’s performance came after a third-place qualification in her heat earlier in the day, and after a traffic jam on the way to the stadium had left athletes with just minutes to prepare for their race.

"We are incredibly proud of Marissa’s performance in New Delhi," said Kevin Quadrozzi, Athlete Manager at On. "Winning a medal is always a significant achievement, especially in tricky conditions like the ones Marissa faced. We're excited to watch what she does next, as she focuses on the 200m event in New Delhi."

The bronze medal adds to Papaconstantinou’s impressive list of accomplishments, including a bronze in the same event at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships and another at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Papaconstantinou will be looking to add to her medal collection in the women's T64 200m event on Sunday, October 5th.
