Mohamed Attaoui Wins Diamond League Paris 800m
On Athletes Shine as Attaoui Claims First Diamond League Title; Kipngeno and Kiriago Break Records at Broken Arrow

Zurich, Switzerland, June 24, 2025 - On athletes delivered standout performances across the globe, with Mohamed Attaoui claiming his first Diamond League title in a tactically masterful 800m race in Paris. Meanwhile, On athletes Patrick Kipngeno and Philemon Kiriago continued their thrilling rivalry at the Broken Arrow Skyrace in California, both breaking the course record.
Titles, PBs, and World Standards at Paris Diamond League
Mohamed Attaoui (ESP) proved that he belongs to the best 800m runners in the world, running a tactically brilliant race. He stuck towards the back of the field for the beginning of the race, sensing that the pace was too fast. As the final bell rang, he moved from 10th place to first at the finish, making his way through the inside rail to pass the last competitors and take his first Diamond League title in a time of 1:42.73 - a new season best time.
In the men’s 1500m race, which was not officially part of the Diamond League race, George Mills continued his incredible season, following up on his 5000m British record with a 3rd place finish and a huge new PB of 3:28.38 which is the second fastest time in British history.
In the women’s 1500m race, Agathe Gillemot (FRA) and Sara Madeleine (FRA) finished in sevent and ninth place respectivley, both dipping below the standard for the World Athletic Championships in Tokoyo this September and Madeleine also managed to set a new PB.
Getnet Wale (ETH) secured bronze in 3000m steeple chase race, not officially part of the Diamone League meet, setting a seasons best of 08:12.58. Fellow On athletes Abrahm Sime (ETH) and Ben Buckingham (ASU) finished in 8th and 14th place respectively. In the women’s steeple chase race, Courtney Wayment of the United States set a new season best time of 09:08.88, finishing in fith place, ahead of Lomi Muleta (ETH) in ninth and Gesa Krause (GER) in 10th.
Podium Celebrations at Broken Arrow Skyrace
The Golden Trail World Series circuit traveled to the US for the Broken Arrow Skyrace in Olympic Valley, California. In the three-way battle between On athletes Patrick Kipngeno (KEN) and Philemon Kiriago (KEN), and Elhousine Elazzaoui (MOR) that has developed in the 2025 season, it was these three racers that again went head-to-head. By kilometer 12, the highest point of the course, the three had a lead of 30 seconds, and it came down to a sprint finish between Elazzaoui and Kiriago, with Elazzaoui having the slightest edge this time. He crossed the finish line in 01:43.53, followed by Kiriago in 01:43.57. Kipngeno completed the podium in 01:44.11. All three podium finishers finished under the previous course record.
