New Cloudventure Calls for New Objectives
On unveils the third generation of its flagship trail shoe, the Cloudventure, with the launch of its third annual Run Your Local Mountain Strava challenge.
ZURICH, Switzerland, August 12, 2021— From the Swiss Alps to the four corners of the world, the Cloudventure has trodden many trails since its debut in 2016. Today, Swiss running brand On unveils its third iteration, with updated attributes and elevated performance to explore new destinations.
The all-new Cloudventure is crafted for runners looking for a lightweight trail running shoe. Whether it’s for training sessions or toeing the line of a weekend race, the Cloudventure performs best on technical trails, steep climbs, and rocky terrain, where precise footwork is key to success.

We’ve fine-tuned many of the model’s components to provide a more grounded yet protective running experience.”
A new Slingshot Speedboard® plate hidden in the midsole of the trail runner couples with a closed CloudTec® midsole channel to provide better feedback from the ground while preserving the trademark On rolling motion. Taking notes from its speedy sibling, the Cloudventure Peak, an all-new upper enhances breathability and lightness while ensuring better protection from the environment with a snug, long-lasting fit – now made with 70% recycled polyester.
The release of the Cloudventure coincides with the launch of the third edition of the Strava challenge, Run Your Local Mountain, accessible to all and active from August 12-18. For this event, On invites its community to log as much elevation gain as possible, with the collective goal of reaching 60 million meters - in the mountains, on a hill, or conquering the stairs of a skyscraper.
