New World Leading Time PBs and National Records for On Athletes
A successful weekend for On athletes with new world-leading times, national records, and PBs.
ZURICH, Switzerland, March 20, 2024 - During the Sound Running 10k held in San Juan Capistrano, California, US, ON athlete Tsigie Gebreselama (ETH) secured an impressive feat, winning the 10,000m in an impressive time of 29:48.34. Not only did the On athlete set a new PB and new World Leading Time and the ninth fastest time of all time, but Gebreselama also became the first woman ever to break the 30:00 minute barrier in the 10k on American soil.
Joe Klecker (USA) of the OAC missed his own PB by just two seconds, running a time of 27:09.29, whilst Ben Flanagan (CAN) ran a big PB of 27:20.93, knocking 30 seconds off his previous personal best and moving him up to 3rd in the all-time Canadian 10k ranking.
Athanas Kioko (KEN) and Jonas Raess (SUI) also took to the start, finishing in 18th and 30th place, respectively, in times of 27:32.29 and 28:04.78 in the men’s 10,000m race. British athlete Amy-Eloise Neale secured 18th place in the women’s 10,000m race in 31:56.01.

Meanwhile in Caracas, Venezuela, On athlete Joselyn Brea (VEN) broke her own national record for the half marathon distance, crossing the finish line in 1:12:35 and improving her previous record by 50 seconds.
