On Athletes Shine at Diamond League Lausanne
On Athletes Deliver Historic Wins and Podium Finishes in Lausanne

Lausanne, Switzerland, August 20, 2025 - Despite rainy conditions, On athletes shone at the Diamond League meet in Lausanne, with Doris Lemngole and Nathaniel Ezikiel securing their first Diamond League wins and four more On athletes finishing on the podium.
Lemngole wins on her On and Diamond League Debut
Kenya’s young steeplechase sensation and recently announced as a On NIL athlete, Doris Lemngole, earned her first-ever Diamond League victory in the women’s 3000m steeplechase in Lausanne. The 23-year-old, a student at the University of Alabama, outpaced a star-studded field, including Ethiopia’s experienced Sembo Almayew, to cross the finish line in a winning time of 9:16.36.
A Win for Nathaniel Ezikiel
In the men’s 400m hurdles, not officially part of the Diamond League competition, Nathaniel Ezikiel secured the victory, battling through rainy conditions to win. Completing the lap of the track in 48.08, he held off Trevor Bassit (US) and Matic Ian Gucek (SVK), his win was a follow-up to his second place at the Silesia Diamond League last week.
A Quartet of Third-Place Finishes
In the women’s 400m, Isabella Whittaker (USA) continued her top form, placing third in a time of 50.63, sharing the podium with Henriette Jaeger (NOR) and Lieker Klaver (NED). Her third-place finish in Poland marked her third podium finish at a Diamond League event this season, following her wins in Stockholm and Oslo earlier this season.
A strong run in the 3000m steeplechase by Olivia Markezich (USA) earned her the third-place spot in 9:20.73, just behind fellow On athlete Doris Lemngole, who took the win. Courtney Wayment (USA) finished just six seconds behind Markezich to capture a fifth-place finish and round out a strong display by the On steeplechasers.
Mohamed Attaoui put up a fight for a podium spot in the men’s 800m. In a tightly contested race, the Spaniard used his famed kick to move forward on the home stretch and just outran Max Burgin (GBR) to secure his third podium finish of the season in a time of 1:43.38.
Home star Ditaji Kambundji (SUI) had the crowd behind her as she raced in the 100m hurdles. Taking third in 12.54, just 0.01 seconds behind Olympic Champion Masai Russel (USA) and Nadine Visser (NED).
