On Athletes Soar to Victories Across the Globe
Blummenfelt dominated the IRONMAN in Texas, while the On Trail Team and OAC Athletes secured podium finishes worldwide.

Zurich, Switzerland, April 28, 2025 - From the grueling endurance test of IRONMAN Texas to the challenging trails around the world and the competitive track at Penn Relays, On athletes demonstrated exceptional talent and determination.
Dominant Victory in Texas by Blummenfelt
At the IRONMAN Texas, Kristian Blummenfelt (NOR) showed the triathlon world that he was back with a sensational win. Following a less successful 2024 and an unfortunate start to the 2025 race season with a flat tire in Oceanside, there was no stopping Blummenfelt in Texas.

A front pack of 20 athletes emerged after the 48-minute swim, with Blummenfelt in sixth position, followed by his Norwegian and On teammate Gustav Iden in 14th place. Blummenfelt began making his way through the field on the bike, and by the 30-mile mark was in the lead, but with only a 25-second lead. He continued to lead at the halfway mark, but it was still tight as only 14 seconds separated the Norwegian in first and Lindards (GBR) in 14th position. After some attacks and pushes, a group of six sat at the front as the 100 mile mark passed by. Blummenfelt arrived into T2, 27 seconds behind Wurf and Thompson who had turned on the turbo just ahead of the transition.
Blummenfelt left his competition no chance as the run began. Seven miles in, the Norwegian already had a minute lead. He went through the half-marathon in 01:15 and was very much on course for victory in a blistering time. Crossing the finish line after a 02:34.03 marathon, Blummenfelt set a new course record for the Ironman Texas of 07:24.20.
Speaking after the race, Blummenfelt said:
“Its nice to show that I can race well over the full distance and also in the heat and humidity that we were having here in Texas.”
Podiums across the Trail Running Scene
At the Madeira Island Ultra Trail, Katie Schide and Germain Grangier were lacing up for their first race since announcing they were returning to the On Trail Team. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions of rain, cold, and mud, nothing seemed to be able to slow down Schide who completed the 118km and 6640m of elevation in 14:20.56, more than two hours ahead of the second-place female finisher and in seventh place overall. On the men’s side, Grangier mingled with the front pack, pushing up to third and second place at times. At the 101k mark, the top five men were all close, and betting on the final order of the top three would have been hard. As the downhill progressed, it became clear that Paul Cornut-Chauvinc (FRA) would claim the victory, and Grangier would have to settle for fifth, completing the grueling course in 13:19.41, just one hour ahead of Schide.
The second stop of the Golden Trail World Series took place in China, and following his victory at the opening race in Kobe, Japan, last week, Patrick Kipnegno was keen to retain his number one ranking. The 24.2km long course, with 1800m of accumulated elevation, took the runners along the iconic Chinese Wall and across the ridgeline near the East Gate of the Wall. Kipnegno gained ground in the men’s race gradually, and by the halfway mark had taken the lead, closely followed by second and third. In the final kilometres, he turned on the jets. He managed the pressure of the chasers, capturing the victory in 02:13.05 and his second consecutive victory in the 2025 Golden Trail World Series. Teammate Philemon Kiriago managed to move up to second place, crossing the finish line in 02:13.48, his second-place finish in the series.
In the Mont Ventoux Regional Nature Park, trail runners were lacing up for the first edition of the Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB. Baptiste Chassagne (100k), Antoine Charvolin (50k), and Paul Mathou (50k) were on the start line for the On Trail Team. In his first race for On, Chassagne found himself in constant battle with American Ben Dhiman and Thibaut Garrivier, with Dhiman ultimately winning the race. Chassagne followed in second place, completing the 89km and 4600m of elevation in a time of 07:44.29, less than 10 minutes behind Dhiman.
In the 50k race, only 34 seconds separated Antoine Charvolin from the first-place finisher, Thomas Cardin. Charvolin completed the 49km with 2200m of elevation in 03:39.16, while teammate Paul Mathou finished in 03:52.10 in sixth.
In the US, Adrian MacDonald claimed bronze in the Canyons by UTMB 25k race, Jeff Mogavero finished fourth in the 50k, and Katarzyna Solinska came third at the Polish Short Trail Championships.
On Athletic Club: A Dominant Force at Penn Relays
Repping a new logo and the newly released 2025 race kit, Josette Andrews, Robert Farken, and Geordie Beamish were in a winning mood at this year's Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
Andrews kicked off celebrations for the OAC athletes, taking the win in the 1500m. Kicking past Dani Jones and Nozomi in the final 400 metres, she took down her own meet record by nearly three seconds, breaking the tape in 04:01.76.
Beamish closed the final lap in 54.55 seconds in the men's mile, taking the victory in 03:56.85 ahead of Sam Ellis and Wes Porter, who finished just .03 and .07 after Beamish, respectively.
Robert Farken, who moved from the European On Athletics Club to the Global Team in Boulder late last year, brought the final celebration for the team to the table. In the men’s 800m race, Farken went from sixth to first in the second lap, securing the win and a meet record of 1:45.45.
