On Athletics Club Enhances Global and European Teams with New Signings and Strategic Moves

Dylan Jacobs (USA) and Robert Farken (GER) will strengthen the OAC Global Team Roster, while Jonas Raess (SUI) returns home and joins OAC Europe

Zurich, Switzerland, November 4, 2024 – As the 2024 season concludes and the 2025 season approaches, Swiss sportswear brand On is thrilled to announce exciting developments within the On Athletics Club (OAC). American athlete Dylan Jacobs will join the OAC Global Team, together with Robert Farken (GER). At the same time, Jonas Raess (SUI) returns to his native Switzerland, bringing his experience to the OAC Europe Team. Farken and Raess's moves mark a milestone in OAC history, as they become the first athletes to transition between OAC teams.

Dylan Jacobs Reunites with Yared Nuguse

Following an impressive collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Tennessee, Dylan Jacobs signed a professional contract with On and continued his training in Knoxville, Tennessee. Now, Jacobs is relocating to Boulder, Colorado, the OAC Global Team’s base, where he will train alongside his former Notre Dame teammate Yared Nuguse and running legend Hellen Obiri.

Jacobs reflected on his move:

“Joining OAC is an absolute dream because of the elite coaching, competitiveness, and culture within the team. At the professional level, it is essential to be around the best in the world to continue to grow in your own right, and there is no place better for that than here. I look forward to positively impacting the team camaraderie while succeeding on the track.”

Jacobs will also begin training under his new coach, Dathan Ritzenhein. Commenting on the addition of Jacobs to the team, Ritzenhein said:

“We’re very excited to add Dylan Jacobs to our OAC Global team. Dylan is an incredible talent and a great fit with our group. He’s been with On for a little over a year now, but with the structure and support of the team, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.”

A First for the On Athletics Club

For the first time in its young history, OAC will see athletes transitioning between its teams. Robert Farken (GER) will relocate from St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Boulder, Colorado, while Jonas Raess (SUI) will return to his home country to join OAC Europe.

Farken Heads Stateside

Robert Farken, who joined OAC Europe shortly after its founding in 2022, has seen impressive growth in his specialty events, the 800m and 1500m, securing multiple German national titles and making his debut at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. With his sights set on higher goals, Farken looks forward to this next chapter:

“I feel like the best years of my career are yet to come, and taking the step of joining the OAC Global Team and training amongst the world’s best athletes will help me further to achieve my goals. OAC Europe gave me a fantastic start to my career, and I’m sad to leave behind some incredible people, but equally excited to be moving over to Boulder and starting this new adventure.”

Farken will now work with head coach Dathan Ritzenhein and assistant coach Kelsey Quinn. Ritzenhein expressed his enthusiasm about Farken joining the team:

“Adding Robert to our club adds strength to what I believe is already the best men’s 1500m group in the world. He has developed well over the last few years in Europe, and bringing him in with our team now will help push him to the next level. He has room for growth but also the talent and experience to really see what he’s capable of in the coming years.”

Raess Returns to Switzerland

Jonas Raess, the Swiss national record holder in the 5000m and 3000m, has decided to return to Switzerland after two years in Boulder with the OAC Global Team. Since joining in 2022, Raess has consistently improved, setting new Swiss records and competing internationally. Recently, he realized a desire to be closer to home, friends, and family, hoping this transition will provide a fresh outlook on his career. On his move to OAC Europe, Raess said:

“For me, joining OAC Europe is the logical step in my journey. On the one hand, I’m fascinated by the very successful training system, and on the other hand, I’m closer to my friends and family again.”

Raess’s new coach, Thomas Dreissacker, warmly welcomed him to the team:

“I’m very happy to welcome Jonas to the team. He has a lot of experience as an athlete and has previously trained with very good coaches. The whole team can benefit from this.”
