On Athletics Club Europe Welcomes Three Rising Stars to its Roster
Nathalie Blomqvist, Federico Riva, and Ludovica Cavalli are the newest On Athletic Club Europe Members
ZURICH, Switzerland, January 28, 2025 – On is today announcing the addition of three exceptional athletes to the On Athletics Club Europe Team Roster: Federico Riva (ITA), Nathalie Blomqvist (FIN), and Ludovica Cavalli (ITA). With the addition of these three talented youngsters, the On Athletics Club Europe team has grown to 15 members.
OAC Europe Head Coach Thomas Dreissigacker spoke about the additions to the team:
“We are really happy to sign three new athletes for our team. It's great to enlarge our portfolio of countries by Finland and Italy. All three athletes are still young and have a lot of potential to improve to be world-class athletes in the next years.”
Nathalie Blomqvist: Finland's Rising Athletics Star
Hailing from Pedersöre, Finland, 23-year-old Nathalie Blomqvist has quickly become a rising star in long-distance running. Starting with athletics at age eight, she transitioned from the 1500m to excel in the 3000m and 5000m, claiming the Finnish National indoor 3000m title in 2024 and bronze at the 2023 U23 European Cross Country Championships. Blomqvist's 2024 season was highlighted by two national records in the 3000m (8:32.23) and 5000m (14:44.72), set in Oslo and Rome, respectively. She made her Olympic debut in Paris, finishing 13th in the 5000m final. Blomqvist concluded her remarkable season with a seventh-place finish at the Urban Trail de Lille, setting a new national record in the 10km road race with a time of 31:25.

Federico Riva: From Footballer to Athletic Star
The Rome local, born in 2000, boasts a national record in the 2000m indoor and multiple national titles. A former AS Roma youth footballer, Riva discovered his love for running at 13. He quickly excelled, claiming the U20 Italian indoor 1500m title in 2018 and the U23 indoor 1500m and 3000m titles in 2021. After overcoming a setback in 2023, Riva returned stronger in 2024, winning national titles in the 3000m, and the 1500m and 3000m short track. He represented Italy in the 1500m at the Paris Olympics, achieving a new personal best in the repechage round. A lifelong AS Roma fan, Riva continues to support his team from the Curva Sud whenever his training schedule allows.

Ludovica Cavalli: A World Championship Finalist
On Athletics Club Europe welcomes Italian middle-distance talent Ludovica Cavalli to its roster. The Genoese athlete, born in 2000, brings a wealth of championship experience, including multiple Italian national titles in the 1500m and 3000m distances. Cavalli's journey began with steeplechase after transitioning from football at age 14. She steadily progressed to the senior level, competing at the European Indoor Championships in 2021 and achieving a bronze medal in the 1500m at the 2022 Mediterranean Games. Cavalli's 2023 season culminated in an impressive 11th-place finish in the 1500m final at the World Championships in Budapest, where she set consecutive personal bests. She represented Italy at the 2024 Paris Olympics and capped off the year with a team gold medal at the European Cross Country Championships.
