With the first store in the Danish capital, the Swiss premium sportswear brand continues its strategic expansion. This move underscores the brand’s commitment to enhancing its retail presence and delivering a premium experience in the Nordic region.
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, August 6, 2026 - Swiss premium sportswear brand On today opened its first store in Denmark. The new store location in Copenhagen marks another milestone for On as it expands its global retail presence further into the Nordic region. The inauguration follows recent global openings of other On stores in cities like Stockholm, Boston, Seoul, and Shenzhen.
Copenhagen provides a natural setting for On’s premium retail experience, with its strong connection to design, movement and urban life. The store on Købmagergade 39 is located in Indre By, the city’s historic Old Town and central inner-city district. One of Copenhagen’s busiest pedestrian shopping streets, Købmagergade blends medieval architecture with modern retail and daily city life.

The retail space reflects Copenhagen’s character through a contrast of heritage and modernity. Red metal cladding references Denmark’s visual identity and contemporary design language, while concrete, grey stucco and oak create a clean, tactile material palette. Located on the same street as the Round Tower, the store draws inspiration from the 17th century landmark’s continuous spiralling ramp, bringing a sense of movement and flow into the retail experience.
The new Copenhagen store spans 350 sqm and will offer customers the opportunity to experience On’s product portfolio from toe to head. As the brand’s only store in the city and market, the location features shoes, apparel, and accessories for high-performance running, outdoor activities, training, all-day use, and tennis. It also serves as a central hub for the local community, offering weekly run clubs and various movement activities throughout the year.
