ZURICH, Switzerland — Timed for Tokyo, On introduces its elite marathon shoe, the Cloudboom Echo, on June 22. As the most athlete-involved shoe developed by the Swiss running brand, the Cloudboom Echo showcases over two years of elite insight and footwear innovation from the On Lab.
Engineered with On's signature CloudTec®, the Cloudboom Echo blends impact protection with serious responsiveness. A dual layer of optimally placed Clouds provides supreme cushioning that adapts to each athlete's stride. A completely new rocker-shaped carbon Speedboard®—On's unique plate for forward propulsion—runs the length of the shoe for explosive take-offs, reinforced by superlight Helion™ foam.
After extensive lab and athlete field-testing, an external study found the Cloudboom Echo to perform at the highest level. The carbon shoe was found to induce outstanding running economy which reflects the energy demand of running at a constant submaximal speed comparable to marathon race pace—this means more efficiency to kick through 26.2.
