On Signs NCAA All-American Sprinter Amir Thompson to an NIL Deal

Thompson’s rapid ascent to the top of collegiate track and field is marked by an unconventional journey and an exceptional competitive drive. A lifelong basketball player, Thompson dedicated his entire high school career to the court in Austin, Texas. It was only in March of his senior year—driven by a desire to keep competing after a first-round playoff exit—that he stepped onto the track for the first time, determined not to let his natural athletic gifts go to waste.
The son of Olympic medalists Marion Jones and Obadele Thompson, he began his collegiate career at the University of Texas at Austin before transferring to Arizona State University as a sophomore, where his raw talent has turned into championship success.In just his second year of competitive track, Thompson captured the individual Big 12 Indoor title in the 200m, shattering the ASU program record with a blazing time of 20.40 seconds and earning First-Team All-American honors.
