On Welcomes Kana Mizumoto as First-Ever Female Asian Track & Field Athlete

TOKYO, Japan, November 20, 2025 - Swiss sports brand On, is pleased to announce the signing of an athlete contract with Kanako Mizumoto (Edion Women's Track and Field Team), a proven athlete selected for the Japanese national team at the U20 World Championships. With Mizumoto joining the On family, she becomes the first Asian female track and field athlete on the global roster.
During her third year at Osaka Kunie Girls' Academy High School, Mizumoto placed 3rd in the 1500m and 4th in the 3000m at the Inter-High School Championships. She also won the stage award for the first section at the National High School Ekiden during her senior year. After graduating from high school, she joined the Edion Women's Track and Field Team. She won the 3000m at the 2023 U20 Asian Championships. Entering 2025, she experienced rapid growth, placing third at the Japan Championships with a personal best time. Immediately after the Japan Championships, at the Sunset Tour in Los Angeles, she further improved her personal best, setting a time of 15:06.98.
Speaking on the news, Mizumoto said:

My immediate goal is to represent Japan at next year's Asian Games in Nagoya. Beyond that, my ultimate goal is to compete as a member of Team Japan in LA in 2028 and compete on the world stage.
