Steeplechase Sensation Gesa Felicitas Krause sets her sights on Paris
Nine months after giving birth to her daughter Lola, the German makes her comeback with Swiss sportswear brand On as a new partner.
Zurich, Switzerland, February 16, 2024 - German steeplechase powerhouse Gesa Felicitas Krause is officially lacing up with Swiss sportswear brand On. The goal: reaching her fourth Olympic final in Paris.
A seasoned athlete who specializes in the 3000 m steeplechase, Krause has already left her mark on the world stage. She is a two-time European Champion and claimed bronze medals at the World Championships in 2015 and 2019. She represented Germany at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 (2021) Olympics, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination. She now joins forces with On in a strategic partnership aimed at reaching new heights of excellence.
“Nine months ago, I welcomed my daughter, and so I currently have a second full-time job next to my daily training”, Krause says. “But my daughter is really giving me wings. Running and my daily training are my passion and have shaped my attitude towards life. I love working meticulously towards a larger goal. In the summer of 2024, I would like to contest my fourth Olympic 3000m steeplechase final.”
After her break in 2023, the 31-year-old is now back on the track and has already set first exclamation points with a 1500m win at the Breuninger Meet in Erfurt and by setting a new personal 800m indoor best at the Run and Fly Meeting in Dortmund, Germany in February 2024.
She will make her first appearance in On at the upcoming German Indoor Championships in Leipzig on February 17 and 18.
