The Wait is Over: On Announces Highly Anticipated New Drop for its Fastest Ever Shoes - the Athlete-Developed Cloudboom Echo 3 and Cloudspikes
The latest drop of the Swiss sportswear brand’s elite marathon shoe lands in stores on July 6. The Cloudboom Echo 3 blends athlete’s feedback with footwear innovation and is the first shoe to feature the new Helion™ HF hyperfoam, derived from castor beans.
Zurich, Switzerland, July 6, 2023 — On’s latest and fastest elite marathon shoe, the Cloudboom Echo 3, will be back in stock from July 6. These hotly anticipated racing shoes are designed to smash PBs and bring even more runners to victory at the finish line.
Engineered using top athlete insight, the Cloudboom Echo 3 is fully equipped to turbocharge your fastest marathon yet - with On’s signature CloudTec®, a carbon Speedboard®, and new Helion™ HF hyperfoam that fuses impact protection with supreme energy return.
Originally derived from castor beans, the new Helion™ HF hyperfoam is made out of 46% bio-based materials. It’s not only fully recyclable but is able to pull some impressively high-performance results. Sandwiched between the midsole layers, a spoon-like shaped full Carbon Speedboard® acts to propel you forward. The high-tech upper of the shoe is composed of a single cohesive woven structure, offering deliberate zones for high breathability.
If you thought that it couldn’t possibly get more exciting than this, think again. Coinciding with the latest drop of On’s fastest marathon shoe to date - the Cloudboom Echo 3 - On is also restocking its first-ever spike shoes to conquer track and field races across the globe. The Cloudspike 1500m and 10000m are both engineered in close collaboration with On’s OAC athletes.
The Cloudspike 10000m is On’s long-distance race spike. On’s signature CloudTec® and Helion™ HF hyperfoam, is coupled with a full-length, spoon-shaped Speedboard® made out of fiberglass to sustain peak performance at high paces. Looking at the design and function of the underfoot, six removable spikes and a surface-gripping heel pad provide excellent traction. Each spike is engraved with “Designed and developed in Zurich. Tested in Boulder and St. Moritz”, boasting the extensive testing process with OAC athletes.
The mid-distance race Cloudspike 1500m is engineered using the best components to be a very lightweight construction of below 140 grams, with On’s signature CloudTec® and Helion™ HF hyperfoam teamed with a carbon Speedboard®. Underfoot, five removable spikes on a horseshoe plate grip the track.
The Cloudboom Echo 3 and the Cloudspikes provide explosive speed without compromising complete comfort. They are made for athletes who push the limits of their potential and need an equal match that’s up for the challenge.
