Why is she running?

On shows five different portraits of female runners

The running season is just around the corner. Sportswear will be airy and lighter again. But finding time for sports around work, family, and travel can be a challenge. What does your "Work-Run-Balance" look like? What does running mean to you? Each of them with their special relationship to running, five women answer these questions and show their motivation.

Lisa

"I don't run with music - I listen to myself and the sounds around me. No tech, no equipment, no distractions. Running is pure me-time."

Maria

"As a buyer, you travel a lot, chasing from one appointment to the next. In order to find my inner balance in the evening, I usually go for a run through the city. Otherwise I would only have seen the city from the taxi. That's how I turn off my mind and feel free."

Christina

"When it works, I like to move meetings outside. Put on running shoes and get out of the office. That gives me the best ideas. How often is a change of perspective so easy?"

Bianca

"My sports clothes are always in my hand luggage. Arriving in a new city, the first thing I do is go for a run - at the pier in Yokohama, the West Bund in Shanghai or around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The fresh air and exercise helps me to feel comfortable in the new place quicker. I wear my running shoe, the Cloudswift, directly when travelling by plane. An absolute all-rounder."

Christina

"Running together is twice the fun. A running group motivates and pushes you to exceed your own limits again and again. Even if we don't always run together, we support and motivate each other. I have the pleasure to be part of the great [HILLS] Krew running community in Innsbruck."

At the [HILLS] Krew everyone is equal. There is no jealousy - no sad faces. Those who don't run support the KREW. We're not too fast for anyone, not too slow - because fun can't be measured in seconds. And after running it's time for party!
