World Champion Solveig Løvseth Joins On After Triumphant Kailua- Kona Victory
Løvseth Ran to Victory in the Cloudboom Strike, Validating Her Choice to Join the Swiss Sportswear Brand
Kona, Hawaii, United States, October 13, 2025 - On is proud to announce that newly-minted long-distance triathlon World Champion Solveig Løvseth has officially joined its roster of professional athletes. Her stunning victory in Kailua-Kona this past weekend served as the ultimate test of her footwear, as she validated her choice to sign with the Swiss sportswear brand by running to the win in the Cloudboom Strike.
Løvseth, a Norwegian powerhouse, delivered a perfectly paced race in her long-distance triathlon world championship debut, overcoming brutal conditions and a world-class field. After a solid swim, she made her move on the bike, powering through the challenging 180-kilometer course to record the fastest bike split of the day at 4:31:53. This incredible effort propelled her into third place as she entered the final transition.
As the race progressed into the marathon, Løvseth remained composed, while pre-race favorites such as Lucy Charles-Barclay and Taylor Knibb succumbed to the punishing heat. Løvseth maintained her form with an impeccable run split of 2:55:47, which was the fastest of any finisher. She ultimately moved into the lead with just two miles to go and held off a blistering run from runner-up Kat Matthews, crossing the finish line in a total time of 8:28:27. Her victory was secured by just 35 seconds, making it the third-closest finish in the event's history.
Løvseth joins her fellow countrymen, Caspar Stornes, and now fellow On teammates Kristian Blummenfelt and Gustav Iden on the World Championship podium this year, further establishing the Norwegian dominance in the long-distance triathlon.
Speaking on her decision to join On and race in the Cloudboom Strike, Løvseth said:

I have heard a lot of good things about the whole team and how they help their athletes and just how detail-oriented they are, especially since both Kristian and Gustav are part of the team and they are good friends of mine and they have just been saying a lot of good things about On so I'm really excited to be a part of that family myself.”
“The Cloudboom Strike felt really good during the race. For me, when choosing shoes for a race like this, it's a lot of things that are important. I think one of the most important things for me is that the shoes feel quite stable to run in. I'm having a bit of a wobbly run technique, I'd say in the first place, and when I get tired, that gets even worse, so I think it's really important for me to have a shoe that, as I said, is stable, so when I get tired I won't it won't crack.”

Løvseth's path to the top of long-distance triathlon began in her childhood as a swimmer. Although initially hesitant about triathlon—a sport she felt was for "weird people" at the time—she was encouraged by her swim coach and the fledgling Norwegian triathlon federation. She joined the national team as a junior and became a double European Games champion in 2023, representing Norway in Paris in 2024. Following her appearance in Paris, Løvseth committed to long-distance racing this year, making her a formidable new presence on the circuit. Her Kona win marks a stunning culmination of this journey, especially after she set the record for the fastest-ever Ironman debut time in Hamburg earlier this season.
